Glassified du MIT - Une règle "augmentée" ...

Totalement inutile, ou presque ... parce que je suis sûr qu'on pourrait arriver à faire des trucs sympas avec ... donc INDISPENSABLE !

Glassified: Ruler with transparent display to supplement physical drawing from anirudh on Vimeo.

First Rulers made of Ivory were in use by the Indus Valley Civilization period around 1500 BC. While the digital technology has evolved a lot in past 100 years, Not much has changed in their design since past 3000 years. Glassified is one such attempt, to 'augment' such a ubiquitous tool.

Glassified is a modified ruler with a transparent display to supplement physical strokes made on paper with virtual graphics. Because the display is transparent, both the physical strokes and the virtual graphics are visible in the same plane. A digitizer captures the pen strokes in order to update the graphical overlay, fusing the traditional function of a ruler with the added advantages of a digital, display-based system. We describe use-cases of Glassified in the areas of math and physics and discuss its advantages over traditional systems.
